City drops noise by-law complaint against blogger
Fredericton blogger Charles LeBlanc has one less legal issue to worry about. On Wednesday, the city unexpectedly dropped a noise by-law complaint. The matter was before a judge to have a date set for trial. The ticket was issued in September of last year when LeBlanc held a one man protest outside of the city police station with a blow horn. He was charged with the criminal offence of causing a disturbance, pled guilty and was sentenced in January. Just this week he asked the Court of Queen's Bench to overturn the conviction. Now word yet on whether that appeal will go ahead. A city official says there was no need to continue with the bylaw case as it has been dealt with criminally.
