Blogger won't be charged with assault

Police and justice officials have decided not to proceed with a charge against a well-known Fredericton blogger in connection with an incident in May. Charles LeBlanc was arrested on the grounds of the legislature, where he's been banned since 2006. He was accused of assault by trespass, which alleges he did not comply with a request by security officials to leave. Fredericton police asked the RCMP to investigate. Cpl. Chantal Farrah says after reviewing videos and questioning witnesses, the Mounties decided not to lay charges. LeBlanc says he was just waiting to interview a member of the legislature when the incident occurred.
