Education Minister updates school water situation

The education minister says it'll be December before new water fountains and treatment systems are installed in all schools across the province. Jody Carr (left) says work continues on the remediation plan after high levels of lead and copper were found last fall. Tests that began last fall found many fountains had levels of lead that exceeded Health Canada guidelines...

Carr says some of the problems were caused by fountains not getting enough use...

Carr says more than 250 fountains have been removed, another 180 will be replaced and 26 water treatment systems are being installed. Carr says that'll cost more than $320,000. As well, more than $50,000 has been spent on providing bottled water.
