Cattle producers losing more animals to coyotes attacks

The president of the provincial Agricultural Alliance says some cattle producers are taking a big hit as a result of coyote attacks. Jennifer MacDonald says the attacks have become more frequent despite the best prevention efforts of producers. She notes one cattle producer in Stanley lost a couple of large calves, while another in Sackville has lost nine. MacDonald says losing even one animal can have a significant impact.

MacDonald says the alliance has been lobbying the government for years to implement a wildlife compensation program. She says New Brunswick is the only province without one.
