Fredericton Sunday Flea Market

The Fredericton Sunday Flea market has been  a tradition in town for the past 25 plus years.  It is held every Sunday at the Capital Winter Club (curling club) at 232 Rookwood Avenue.  From 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  There is everything from crafts, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, record LP's video games, food vendors, home decor and more. To book tables, please call Tony at 472-2923.

The City of Fredericton  wishes to advise motorists that beginning Wednesday, (August 13th) Watters Drive will be closed to all traffic between Carman Avenue and Riverside Drive.  Construction is expected to be ongoing for the next eight (8) weeks. Detour  and construction signage will be in place. Learn to Skate / Learn to Speed Skate

LEARN TO SKATE 

Our progressive program is designed for beginners and Non Skaters aged 4+ years of age. $260.00 for an 18 week program. Friday or Saturday sessions available.  

LEARN TO SPEED SKATE  

The C Group program teaches basic short track speed skating to children approximately 6 - 12 years of age. $385 – 2 sessions per week.  Programs start the week of 12th October and run to 20th March 2015  

REGISTRATION - Sunday 14th September from 1:30 - 3:30pm & Thursday 18th September from 6:30 - 8:00pm.

New Brunswick Fine Craft Festival

On August 29th, 30th, and 31st, Officers’ Square in Downtown Fredericton will come alive with the annual New Brunswick Fine Craft Festival, hosted by the New Brunswick Crafts Council. Featuring original works by award winning New Brunswick crafts people, this 50th Anniversary Celebration will not only provide a vibrant environment for community members to discover stunning, locally made craft, such as pottery, jewelry, sculpture, glassware, and wood, but also feature live art demonstrations, live performances from local musicians, a kids craft corner, local food vendors, henna and face painting, and a beer garden sponsored by Picaroons. The festival will also feature a unique gallery of art and craft from NBCCD students and alumni.

Speedway 660 - Speed Weekend

Its Speed weekend at Speedway 660. Friday night is the corn boil (plus a performance by Tristen Horncastle). Saturday night it's the Irving Oil Sportsman 250 and the big race the Remax 250 for the pro-stock division goes Sunday. The weekend raps up with an Enduro race on Labour Day Monday. Alzheimer Society Memory Cafe

The Memory Cafe is a program that combines education, socialization and activity within a safe and inclusive space. It is for both those diagnosed with dementia and their loved ones to attend. Cafes are held on the last Sunday of the month from 2-4pm at St. John Anglican Church 75 Main Street, Fredericton. 
This program offers a unique approach to talking about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias in an informal setting, as well as live entertainment and complimentary refreshments. Our next cafe will be taking place at 2pm on August 31st!

EDZA West (Fredericton area) Peewee AAA Hockey Tryouts
Tryouts for the three Fredericton area Peewee AAA Hockey teams will begin on September 14th at the AUC. The three local teams will operate in the EDZA West League. Coaches this year are Brent Grant (Caps), Phil Huckins (Express) and Andrew Breau (Canadiens) Tryouts are open to all players born in 2002,2003. IOMN Event

The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada’s New Brunswick Centre (RASC NB) will be holding an International Observe the Moon Night (IOMN) event at the Regent Mall, outside of the Chapters entrance, on September 6th at 7pm. IOMN is a worldwide event that encourages people to look up the Moon. The RASC NB will be offering free public observing of the Moon and other astronomical points of interest, as well as information on the Moon and astronomy in general.

'The Alzheimer Journey- First Steps

The Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick  will be presenting 'The Alzheimer Journey- Firsts Steps' in Fredericton starting in October and March.  "The Alzheimer Journey - First Steps" is a free education series designed for those recently diagnosed with dementia, their family and friends.  This free program will run for five consecutive weeks, cover such topics as: What is Dementia?, Communication and Coping Strategies, Navigating the System, and Legal Matters.
