Team Diabetes Charity Bonspiel

Curl with Team Diabetes at our charity bonspiel on March 7, 2015 at the Gage Curling Club! Support the Canadian Diabetes Association with a FUN day of curling, pizza, live & silent auctions, and 50/50.   Includes one large 8-slice pizza per team.  Will accept cash and credit cards for auction items, which will range from a one night stay at Casino NB in Moncton to hockey jerseys, jewellery, and much, much more.

Skate With The Reds

The UNB Varsity Reds are holding a “Skate With The Reds” day, prior to their departure for the CIS University Cup Championships next week in Halifax.  “Skate With The Reds” will be held this Sunday March 8th from 4:45-5:30 at the Aitken Centre. It will be a great opportunity for kids and families to skate with the players, have photos taken and get autographs signed.  Come on out Sunday 4:45-5:30  at the Aitken Centre and give the Varsity Reds a big send off to the CIS

Music on the Hill

Music on the Hill presents: Remember  

Cellist Paul Pulford, a previous resident musician at the UNB Centre for Musical Arts returns to perform with violinist and current resident musician Nadia Francavilla for this duo concert. Hungarian composers Zoltán Kodaly and Béla Bartok will share the scene with Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina and French composer Besty Jolas. Wednesday, March 11th at 7:30pm in Memorial Hall, 9 Bailey Drive, UNB Fredericton.  Tickets: $25 adults / $22 seniors / $10 youth and students. UREC Cyclethon

The third annual URec Cyclethon is happening on March 13th! In support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New BrunswickURec will be hosting cycling classes throughout the day with participation by donation. No membership required - everyone welcome.  Friday March 13, 2015, 6:30am – 7:30pm at the Alberta Alumni Recreation Gym, Richard J. Youth Fencing Programs

Beginner Programs in Fencing for Youth at Damocles Fencing Club

On Guard! Boys and girls aged 10 to 14 can learn the exciting combat sport of fencing at the Damocles Fencing Club of Fredericton. There will be beginner fencing programs starting on March 14 for 10-12 year olds and on March 17 for 12-14 year olds.  Fencing is a great sport for youth who enjoy games of strategy and the excitement of individual combat. No previous fencing experience is necessary. All fencing equipment is provided.  The program will run for 10 weeks at the Damocles Fencing Club located at 55 Whiting Road. W. C. Desmond Pacey Memorial Lecture – March 18th, UNB Fredericton Campus.  The 2014-15 Lecture will be held at UNB Fredericton at 5:30pm on Wednesday, March 18th 2015 in the Alfred G. Bailey Auditorium, Tilley Hall 102. The Still-Wild Country: Why Canada's Wilderness Matters to the Future of Life on Earth will be delivered by author and journalist J.B. MacKinnon.  Mr. MacKinnon is the author of The 100-Mile Diet: A Year of Local Eating, widely acclaimed as a catalyst of the local food movement.  His latest national bestseller is The Once and Future World: Nature As It Was, As It Is, As It Could Be, which won the U.S. Green Prize for Sustainable Literature.  This lecture is free and open to the public.

Devon Middle School Library Fundraiser

UNB Engineers Without Borders Canada

The UNB chapter of Engineers Without Borders Canada will be hosting a fundraising gala on March 21st, 2015 at 7PM. It will be held at Kingswood Lodge, and will provide an opportunity for students to meet with industry professionals. It will also feature speakers surrounding the topic of engineering in a globalized world. Proceeds go to support our various programs, including school outreach, global engineering, Fair Trade, advocacy and overseas volunteer placements. Wingin' It for Parkinson's

 Fredericton's first annual Wingin' it for Parkinson's event will take place at The King Street Ale House and will feature a wing eating relay contest. With 20 teams of 5 participants each, over 800 wings and close to 1000 oz of beer, this is going to be an event to remember. 

Wingin’ it for Parkinson’s will be held Sunday, March 22nd at 7 p.m. Our goal is to raise $10,000 and we believe this goal is attainable, with your help!  We will have all sorts of prizes, 50/50 draw, a silent auction, and Capital FM will be the nights MC!

Frontier College Trivia Night Fundraiser

Frontier College is a national non-profit organization that has been helping to improve literacy rates across Canada for over 100 years. Here in Fredericton, we run in-class, after-school, group-based and one-to-one programs that help children, youth, and adults improve their literacy and numeracy skills. We are able to offer tutoring programs free of charge because of our volunteers’ dedication and our great community partners.

In order to sustain our presence in Fredericton, we are organizing a Trivia Night Fundraiser on Tuesday, March 24th at the Windsor Castle Bar at 6:00 PM. Safe, Flexible, Strong & Balanced Interactive Presentation

Safe, Flexible, Strong & Balanced, Thursday, March 26, 2015, 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  STU Conference Centre, 368 Forest Hill Road, Fredericton.  Physiotherapist Karen Grotterod and Michele Madore, Seniors Fitness Instructor, will take participants through a variety of movements and techniques that can be practiced at home, many from a chair.  Grotterod will share tips and experiences relating to making homes safe from injury, improving and maintaining range of motion, methods of strengthening bodies and bones, correcting balance through challenging it, and shedding the mystery of acupuncture, Laser therapy and more.

Digital Bootcamp

New Brunswick Camp Goodtime

The New Brunswick Camp Goodtime and Junior Leadership Program is an accredited summer recreation program that provides a unique experience for children and teens (7-16) with cancer and a sibling or friend.  Set in scenic Grand Lake at Camp Rotary, NB Camp Goodtime provides a safety-minded, medically supervised fun and entertaining week of activities at no cost, thanks to our sponsor, the New Brunswick Masons. This year’s camp will take place from July 4-10, 2015.
