Hope for the Homeless

The 2nd Annual Hope for the Homeless is taking place now until December 19th.  You can help give a homeless person a Christmas they will never forget. Suggested items for personal hygeine, non-perishable snacks, blankets, mittens/gloves, hats & gift cards.  Donations can be dropped off at Pine Grove Nursing Home until December 19.  Call Lois at 363-4629 for more info.

Recovery Art Show

Addictions and Mental Health Services Fredericton is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual Recovery Art Show. This exhibit highlights substance abuse, addiction, recovery and the role of creativity in recovery. The exhibit will be on display at the Fredericton Public Library,12 Carleton St., from November 1-27, 2014, and can be viewed during library hours. The public is invited to attend the  Recovery Art Gala which will be held in the library on November 19, 2014 at 6:00 pm in celebration of the artists and National Addictions Awareness Week.

Learn Motions, Jumps, Stunts and Tumbling!  Back by popular demand, the second term of the 2014/2015 season is starting!  8 week term running Dec 6th, 2014 to Feb 14th, 2015.  Ages 2.5 – 5: $125 + HST.  Ages 6 – 9: $130 + HST.  Ages 10 – 15: $140 + HST.  Practices are on Saturdays.  Progress reports tracking skill progression will be given out at the end of the term!  To register call 292-0260, or e-mail

Park Street School Christmas Auction

Park Street School is hosting their 2nd annual Christmas Community Auction for the Arts fundraiser.  There will be live music, hot drinks, baked goods and crafts, the whole family is welcome. There are great items being auctioned off including a Valentine's dinner for 8 and a VIP box at a UNB reds game for 22 people!  It starts at 6:30, Thursday, November 27th at Park Street School.

Family Law Workshop

Gridiron For A Cause Football Camp

2nd Annual Gridiron For A Cause Football Camp on  Sunday Dec 28th from 10 am to 5 pm at the UNB BMO Dome. Email: info@gridironforacause.

The Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick will be holding its Annual Provincial Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the grounds of the Legislative Assembly on Friday, November 28 at 7:00 p.m. All are invited to join this festive event to mark the start of the Christmas season.

Operation Keep the Change / Santa Claus Parade

KHJ  will once again be collecting change for Operation Keep the Change at the Santa Claus parade on Saturday, November 26th, so bring your loose change with you and donate to a great cause.  All money collected goes to the Fredericton Food bank, The Salvation Army, Fredericton Community Kitchen and the Oromocto Food Bank.  The parade starts at 5:00pm sharp.  Parade Route: Southside - Parade will form up on the F’ton Exhibition grounds, exit on Saunders, left on Smythe, right on King down to Regent, left at Queen, traveling up Queen past the Royal Canadian Legion to Point Saint Anne Drive, finishing back at the exhibition grounds where the parade will disembark.

IODE Evergreen House Tour

The annual Christmas house tour will take place on Sunday Nov. 30 starting at 5:30 featuring four decorated homes. A reception will follow. Tickets are $20 each and are available at Read’s Newsstand, 435 King St. All funds raised are used locally for education and service projects.

UN Day of Disabled Persons

25th Annual Advent Carol Festival

The 25th Annual Advent Carol Festival held each year at St. Paul’s United Church (corner George and York) will be held on Wednesday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. Twelve local church and community choirs with 300 singers will present a program of new, as well as familiar, Christmas music.  This is a fundraiser for the Fredericton Food Bank; a freewill offering will be received. The event has raised more than $100,000 for area food banks over the past 24 years.

Preparing to Wholesale Your Product...

The New Brunswick Crafts Council invites you to a workshop entitled: Ready, Set, Go! on Thursday, December 4th from 9am-4pm in the Andal Building Boardroom, 225 King Street, Fredericton.

This workshop is designed to assist local producers of craft, giftware and apparel in preparing to market their products through wholesale trade shows. Fredericton Ladies Choir Christmas Concert

The Fredericton Ladies Choir will present its annual Christmas concert on Sunday, December 7 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Dunstan’s Church.  The program by the 100-voice choir will feature both sacred and popular songs of the season. As always, a portion of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to local charities.  Tickets are available for $15 from choir members, at Westminster Books and at the door.
